This easy homemade pancakes recipe takes about 15 minutes to make and everyone loves them! These pancakes are a staple at our house and your family will love them too!
- Yield: 15-18 medium pancakes

2 Tbsp. sugar
2 cups flour, all-purpose or wheat
5 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

- Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease.
- Pour or spoon the batter onto the griddle to form pancakes.
- Cook the pancakes on a hot greased griddle.
- Flip when bubbles break on the surface and the edges begin to dry.
Notes
If you like, you can add chocolate chips or candies to the batter for a special treat.
If you would like to make special patterns for the kids, you can add chocolate chips or candy while the pancakes are cooking. I like to make smiley faces and other patterns in the pancakes for special occasions. For Valentine’s day, I have made heart shapes in pink sprinkles, for Christmas, I have made Christmas designs, etc.

Are these able to be frozen? If so,how do I heat the pancakes when they come out of the freezer.
Jill
Amy these along with most homemade pancakes and waffles, freeze beautifully. They are just like the kind you buy already frozen. When you freeze them you can lay them on a cookie sheet to freeze then put in a plastic bag this way it is easy to take out one at a time.
To reheat you can put them in the microwave for a few seconds but if you aren’t careful they can get soggy. A better way would maybe be to put it in your toaster on a middle setting or to bake in the oven at 325 degrees for about 5 mins. till heated through. Of course different toasters and ovens can be different so you may have to adjust the temp and time for yours a little. Or read the back of a package of frozen pancakes at the store and do the same as what they recommend.

I’ve made these a couple of years now consistently. I freeze them all the time, and they do great! My children really like them! I do like to add vanilla, but they don’t have to have it! I made them tonight for dinner :)

Thanks Ash for letting us know how well they freeze and so glad you like them.

I liked your article on clutter, and struggle with that issue. My experience with asking people for suggestions is that they ARE critical, DO roll their eyes, DO talk about you behind your back, etc. I have two extremely organized sisters in law, one who is almost OCD about it, and they would be the last people on earth I would ask for help, for that reason. Sounds like a good idea on the surface, but feeling criticized because you’re not as organized as someone else takes whatever wind you had in your sails and leaves you without much energy to tackle the problems. Just saying that people should make sure the person they ask for advice is safe to ask!

I had some yogurt that didn’t set up, so I made these and the waffles. Both delicious. I froze both of them for quick breakfasts on workday mornings.
Jill
wow Judy that is a great tip on how to use something like that and not just waste it.
