Homemade Bisquick Baking Mix Recipe

Try this easy and inexpensive homemade baking mix recipe, which you can use in any recipe that calls for Bisquick mix! You can also use this homemade baking mix to simplify regular recipes and cut preparation time.

Ingredients

9 cups flour
2/3 cup dry milk
3 Tbsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 cup shortening or 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup butter*

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and the other dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in shortening. To save time, use a mixer on low to cut in the shortening.
  3. Store in an airtight container up to 6 months.

Notes

This recipe uses a 5-pound sack of flour when doubled.
 
*Refrigerate if using butter.
