Easy S’mores Recipes, Ideas and Tips
S’mores are amazing things. S’mores can be eaten all year round as snacks or desserts and lots of people, young and old alike, love them. These tips are especially good to keep on hand when the kids want some s’mores and you don’t have a piece of chocolate in the house.
For a classic s’mores recipe, you start with 2 graham crackers. Then you roast a marshmallow, usually over a campfire. When the marshmallow is golden brown, or cooked to your liking, carefully remove it from the roaster so you don’t burn yourself and place with chocolate between the graham crackers.
If you like formal recipes, here’s an easy s’mores recipe for you!
Easy S’Mores Recipe
Ingredients
Graham crackers
Chocolate candy, broken into 1-2 inch pieces
Large marshmallows
Instructions
- For each s’more, start with 2 graham crackers.
- Place one piece of chocolate on one fo the graham crackers. If you would like your s’mores extra chocolatey, you can place a piece of chocolate on each graham cracker.
- Roast a marshmallow over a fire with a roasting stick or campfire roasting fork until golden brown, or to your desired doneness.
- Carefully remove the marshmallow from the roaster, being very careful not to burn yourself. (The roaster will be very hot.)
- Place the roasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate on one of the graham cracker pieces.
- Place the other graham cracker (and chocolate, if desired) on top of the marshmallow to make a sandwich.
- Serve and enjoy!
Here are some modern day ways to make s’mores, an old time favorite snack!
- Use chocolate chips or leftover Easter bunnies in place of the candy bar.
- Instead of chocolate candy, use a can of chocolate frosting to make it easier to make s’mores.
- Forget the chocolate altogether. Spread a graham cracker with strawberry or raspberry jam, add a roasted marshmallow and a slice or two of strawberry (or even a slice of banana).
- Spread cinnamon graham crackers with softened cream cheese and fruit.
- This isn’t a s’more idea but I love to spread butter on a cinnamon graham cracker, top it with a second one and dunk it in my coffee for breakfast.
- Chocolate graham crackers are also great spread with peanut butter and slices of banana.
- Cook the marshmallow over the stove. I just put knife in the middle of the marshmallow and then toast it over my electric stovetop.

Jill, I made the cinnamon graham crackers with butter, over the weekend, and dunked them in my coffee. YUM. Such a good idea. Kind of like hard cinnamon toast. I also had a chocolate graham cracker with peanut butter later in the day. Also good and yummy. Then I tryed the cinnamon graham cracker with apricot jam and fresh peaches on Sunday as a snack. Also a good and tasty idea. Thanks for the simple, but yummy treats.

My favorite snack I remember my mom sending in my lunch when I was in kindergarten was plain graham crackers with peanut butter on them (made into a sandwich) They are still good to me now.
I’ve also seen as an alternative to “ice cream graham cracker sandwiches” to use cool whip and freeze them as well. Probably less calories but still a cool snack.

i made s’mores for the kids using nutella. just a small dab works well top with marshmallow and second cracker and pop in microwave for about 15 seconds.

I make S’MORES the old fashion way, but put then in the microwave instead of cooking the marshmellow over a bon fire. We have them all seasons this way. Think of rainy or snowy nights. YUM

OMG! Made this today. My husband could not wait for it to freeeze. I made the fudge sauce. My family LOVED it! I’m a chocoholic anyways but the fudge sauce alone was wonderful!!! Next time I will have to make it the day before and (somehow) not tell my family;)

I’ve seen recipe for a popcorn mix that calls for pieces of graham cracker, plus chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. You pop the popcorn, and add the rest while it’s warm. Yummy!! I sure hope everyone is doing well! Blessings!

We make our smores in the oven year round. Pre-heat oven to 350 deg. Place graham cracker squares on cookie sheet. Top with marshmallow and bake until marshmallow is nicely browned, about 5 min. Remove from oven, top with piece of chocolate and second cracker. Smoosh together. The chocolate will melt and you will have a delightfully gooey snack.
Marlene
Spread them with butter and grated cheese OR apricot jam with grated cheese OR cream cheese and strawberry jam OR peanut butter with strawberry jam.
Pat
We have never had smores. Are they any good?

If you love roasted marshmallows and chocolate you will probably love s’mores. The closest thing I can compare it to is a chocolate pie in a graham cracker crust. They are better than that though because in a s’more you get way more concentrated chocolate.
Jennifer
It’s a good recipe for me. I will try them.
Thanks for your sharing!

I like S’mores so much.
I usually prepare it in a different way. I use a layer of hazelnut cream on the top of marshmallows.
