Easy Homemade Applesauce Recipe
This homemade applesauce recipe is a delightful and kid-friendly way to make use of those surplus apples you have lying around. Whether you’ve stumbled upon a great deal on apples or have been blessed with an abundance from your own tree, this recipe is perfect for you.
Ingredients
4 apples – peeled, cored and chopped
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft.
- Allow to cool.
- Then mash with a fork, potato masher or stick blender.
Tips! A stick blender makes quick work of Applesauce and Apple Butter.
Use a canning funnel to pour Apple Butter and Applesauce into freezer bags.
