Pumpkin Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup pumpkin
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups all-purpose flour
milk (to brush the tops)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Cream shortening, sugar and pumpkin in a bowl.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
  4. Drop by small spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Brush the tops with milk.
  6. Bake for 8 minutes.
  7. Top with pumpkin cookies frosting (below).
