Easy Chocolate Popcorn Recipe
2 quarts popcorn, popped
1 cup mini marshmallows
1/2 cup peanuts
6 plain Hershey’s candy bars (1.55 oz each)*
Place popcorn on a greased 15x10x1 baking pan. Break candy bars into quarters. Sprinkle marshmallows and peanuts and place broken candy bars on top. Bake at 300° for 5 minutes. Let stand for 1 minute. Toss to coat. Store in an airtight container. * This is a good way to use up some of that Christmas or Easter chocolate.
Confetti Popcorn

1/2 cup light corn syrup

I really like these recipes. I love popcorn, and am always making it at work in the microwave, and everyone tells me how good it smells. Cheaper than buying snacks from the vending machine.

A couple of years back I got the recipe for Kettle corn on the Hillbilly Housewife site and I have been making it every since, but I use half the sugar and I don’t do it on the stove. I use my Stir Crazy Popcorn popper. When it comes to parties, the Kettle corn is requested! I have made money off this recipe too! I will be putting Kettle Corn in my food gift baskets this year.
For the basket, I don’t really use a basket, but I take a paper grocery bag and roll it down into a nest and put the food in that. The people that get my food baskets don’t need any more stuff in their houses, so I don’t waste money on a basket they don’t want.
I also make buttered popcorn. When I make the popcorn in the Stir Crazy, I put the butter in with the popcorn. That way the butter is more evenly distributed and doesn’t land on those 10 favored kernels and there is nothing on the rest.
I have found that the best oil to use for popcorn and especially the kettle corn is Grapeseed Oil. It has a very high smoke point and it doesn’t burn the kettle corn. Costco has the best price for Grapeseed oil I have found.

For a fast and healthy popcorn snack simply place a scant 1/4 cup popcorn kernels (I like white popcorn the best) into a paper lunch sack. Fold down the top a couple times and place into the microwave on it’s side. Our microwave pops the bag of popcorn in 1 1/2 minutes. There are quite a few old maids but more time burns the popcorn. pour a bit of melted butter on the popcorn so the salt will stick or use “this can’t be butter” spray to moisten up the popcorn for salt sticking purposes. It’s GREAT and probably costs about 5 cents to make. I wonder if a cloth sack with a little draw string wouldn’t work just as well. I will try it and report back.

Wendy my mom does this all the time but she has found that the Wendy’s fast food sacks work best of all. We don’t know why but they do and she has almost no old maids. One good thing she and my dad go there a lot and order off the dollar menu so she saves everyone she gets. You might try it if you get a chance. I’m sure different microwaves would maybe be different too.
My grandson loves popcorn and he says great grandma’s popcorn is the best in the whole world.

My kids and I made both recipes last night for my son’s kindergarten gift exchange. They both were WONDERFUL! I had to put the chocolate batch in the fridge to set up, but they were both easy recipes and well liked!

I love popcorn, and have been wanting to try something different. I will definitely try the chocolate popcorn. One day on a whim, I put some spoonfuls of Nutella on some hot popcorn and then mixed it around. That was good too.

That does sound really good Rachel.
